Make your vote count!
This year, I'm encouraging folks to "vote in reverse" by starting at the end of your ballot, leaving the so-called "big" races for last.
But why?
Voters often miss down-ballot items like nonpartisan races and ballot initiatives, and that's unfortunate because hyper-local races are where our votes pack the biggest punch.
This year I'm paying close attention to a vitally important ACHD Commissioner race and a proposed constitutional amendment that will have serious implications for Idahoans.
Join me and vote in reverse by Nov 8.
Voting FAQ
How should I vote on those important down-ballot items?
Your vote is personal, and I trust you'll do your research, but for what it's worth:
I'm voting for Miranda Gold for ACHD Commissioner, District 3.
I'm voting NO on the proposed constitutional amendment, and every Democrat serving in the Idaho State Legislature opposes the proposed amendment. We don't need or want a full-time legislature.
When is Election Day this year?
Election Day is Nov 8. Polls are open from 8 am - 8 pm.
Where do I vote on Election Day?
Check your polling place and your registration status.
Can I register to vote at the polls?
Yes! Head to your polling place with a valid photo ID and proof of residency (a piece of mail with your name and address on it, like a utility bill.) Although Idahoans currently enjoy same-day voter registration, I highly recommend registering by the pre-reg deadline on Oct 14 or during early voting.
What do I need to bring to the polls?
If you are already registered to vote, you are not required to bring an ID. You may sign an affidavit instead.
If you’re not already registered and will be registering at the polls, bring a valid photo ID and proof of residency.
When will my absentee ballot arrive?
The county has already started mailing absentees! Ballots go out on a rolling basis through the deadline. Expect to receive your ballot in 7-10 days after requesting. Track your ballot here.
Can I still vote in person if I decide I don't want to vote absentee?
Yes! If you requested an absentee ballot and changed your mind or didn't mail back in time, take your ballot to your polling location and they will give you a new, regular ballot.
